Canyou Lose Your Virgnity Annally

.- The Allman Brothers Band Do not Keep Me Wonderin '

Today I feel like that is playoff, at least for me, one of the best songs written by the great Gregg Allman, who is none other than "Don ' t Keep me wonderin '".-
Song featured in the second of the Allman Brothers album," Idlewild South ", published in 1970, has become one of the great classics of the band, which dominates the slide guitar of Duane Allman, and his "question and answer" with Thom Doucette's harmonica on the powerful rhythm section and the extraordinary sound of Gregg Allman Hammond, who has always been more than a soloist, teacher to use the sound of the B3 organ to support, texture and strength to those issues, somewhat along the lines of the great Booker T. Jones .-
Recently, with the presence of Derek Trucks in the band, the issue has gained in strength thanks to the aggressive sound that has this guitar when playing the slide guitar, which is an absolute master, one of the best the world today, no doubt, making it one of the great moments of the band direct
.- Here you are the original 1970 version, with its original lineup: Duane Allman (slide & lead guitar), Dickey Betts (lead guitar), Gregg Allman (vocals, hammond organ & piano), Berry Oakley (bass), Jaimoe (drums, percussion); Butch Trucks (drums and percussion), and the collaboration of Thom Doucette on harmonica:

And a live version of their double CD and DVD live at the Beacon Theater in New York with the current lineup, which includes: Gregg Allman (hammond organ and vocals), Jaimoe (drums and percussion), Butch Trucks (drums and percussion), Marc Quinones (percussion), Warren Haynes (guitar), Derek Trucks (slide guitar) and Oteil Burbridge (bass):

Reclining Bath Tub Pillow

remember how the day seeing that 1989 film starring Al Pacino, Ellen Barkin and John Goodman, called "Sea of \u200b\u200bLove", in which Al Pacino played a New York detective who was on the trail of a serial murderer who, after killing their victims left a record playing the song that gave title to the movie, I dramatically impact of that wonderful song. It seemed simple, fair, direct, and grabbed me like few others. Since then it has become one of the songs in my life .-

"Sea of \u200b\u200bLove", composed by John Phillip Baptiste, known as Phil Phillips, George Khoury, and that interpretation original Phil Phillips earned the number 1 in 1959 in the Billboard charts in the category of R & B. Phil Phillips did not regain any more success with any other of his songs .-

In "Sea of \u200b\u200bLove" have been lots of versions, among which we should highlight the Honeydrippers, whose version reach the top again of the charts of Billboard, Iggy Pop (one of my favorites), that of Tom Waits (beautifully dark, and that is another of my favorites) or the more simplistic version of "naked" by Cat Power .-
Despite its simplicity I think one of the most beautiful songs have been composed, and a song which is part of my life as few

.- "Come with me my love
to the sea, the sea of \u200b\u200blove
i want to tell you just how much
i love you Do you remember
When we met
that's the day I Knew
You Were my pet
i want to to tell you
just how much i love you.
Come with me
to the sea
of Love "

SEA OF LOVE GEORGE" Little Hat "Jones" Bye bye baby blues "DREAM THEATER

When I was a blues purist stage , and only I used to hear that kind of music, I found a subject that has caught me and I've always felt a great fascination. No, I guess when a song grabs you, you do not have to look for further explanations.
The blues is "bye bye baby blues of a musician named George Jones, better known as Little Hat Jones.
This musician was born on October 5, 1899 in Texas, who earned his living playing in the streets. In June 1929, made a recording with the legendary Okeh label, and in that time played guitar on nine tracks of a great Texas blues, Texas Alexander, also for the Okeh label. In that same June, Jones recorded ten songs, which really was the legacy left over from the music of the bluesman, ten songs, plus nine meetings with Texas Alexander.
never returned to record another track and died in Naples, Texas, in 1981 at the age of 80 years .-
And today, on this blog, we pay tribute to this musician as unknown the majority.

November Uk Red Flower

vs JJ Cale James Jamerson

Yeah, I know, the post title is a bit puzzling and even stupid, but I served as the basis for some thoughts on two opposite ways of understanding music: complexity versus simplicity, which fetched compared to the simple .-
Dream Theater, as good musicians Berkley Music School, pose a complex type of music, tremendous long tracks, with changes of pace, style, rhythms, and tremendous technical demonstrations of its members. Meanwhile
JJCale represents as few of his compositions simplicity, minimalism almost perfectly reflected in songs usually no more than 3 minutes or 3 minutes and setting, and how difficult it is for anyone trying to become a composer: to make beautiful music in such a short space of time. Generally
some people think it's much more difficult to make and play music like Dream Theater than JJ Cale, and while it may be true in the second case (touch), it is quite uncertain at first.
I've always been surrounded by musicians, guitarists in particular and generally obsessed with doing the more complex issues better, it seemed that if the issue was too simple not interested or something, and make good music had to "complicate matters a bit ".
The older I get, the more I realize that people like Cale or even Fogerty were geniuses, because when I try to compose a song, and try to make it as simple as possible, I realize how fucking hard it is, and I think amazing that there are people who make an art of simplicity. Complicating
a subject is generally easier, and especially if you have the technical skill of being able to touch things. You can create several parts, each more chunga, find a way to connect them smoothly and voilà, you have a topic of more than 7 minutes full of extreme complexity, then we'll see if we can play, but make an issue of 2:30 minutes, simple, simple, and is really good, man, that's another fucking story, and a lot more fucking story.
And yes, I know, are different styles of music, but overall the theme of simplicity or complexity in the composition is given in most styles, each with their own circumstances, and so, if you really there is a conflict between Dream Theater and JJ Cale, between complexity and simplicity, I would not hesitate to hand I would

Ringing In The Left Ear

After a chaotic summer and after a period of extreme laziness caused by the same summer, for the love of beer on the terraces of Madrid and the fucking hot that I melted the brain and the more years that I meet, the more I hate, for return, with the intention to be more consistent with this blog, to offer interesting posts, to try to improve this blog more and more, and to shelve posts that have nothing to do with music (like the fucking bulls ...).-
That said, I decided that my return will be devoted to music for which I am bearish, the great Mr. James Jamerson, whose death she turned 27 last August 2 .-
true that I did not bear for him, but because all my friends played the guitar and if I caught a bass, it could mount a clique .- In addition, at that time was my idol, Steve Harris (and remains one of my idols), and still had no clue that music was heavy or hard-rock.
As I matured, growing and learning more about music, I find new music that I hallucinated, and new bassist who became idols, people like Chuck Rainey, Leon Wilkeson, John Entwistle, Jaco Pastorius and Francis Rocco Prestia, among others, were some of the ones I hit, and trying to be like, but nothing was the same after discovering the Motown sound and above all, incredible bass lines of James Jamerson. When I started studying them and touching them, freaked out, it was like a revelation, especially taking into account the time that this man did what he did. If you look through the prism of today, not appreciated in its proper place, but if you think this man appeared in the early sixties, when the bass was just a stooge, a silly and very basic accompaniment, with nothing "grace", its appearance was an unprecedented revolution .- Since then, my style and my playing is owed all the great James Jamerson, the best bass player, for me, history .-
James Jamerson was the funk bassist called brothers, session musicians who gave birth to one of the most memorable musical stages, which was none other than the sound of the '60s Motown .- Born January 29, 1936 in Charleston, South Carolina, but moved to the beginning of the 50 to Detroit, and was responsible for the bass lines of almost all the hits from the 60's and early 70's Motown, reaching a level such that, if Jamerson not available at that time, label artists delayed their entry into the study to record their songs until they could count on him to the bass line, as he acknowledged in an interview with the great Smokey Robinson.
The number of hits he recorded was such that it is practically imposible enumerarlos, pero aún a riesgo de dejarme alguno, aqui van alguno de mis favoritos:

Reach ou (i'll be there)- The Four Tops
Still Water (love)- The Four Tops
Bernadette- The Four Tops
Home Cookin'- Jr. Walker & the All Stars
Just a little misunderstanding- The Contours
What's Goin' on- Marvin Gaye
I Heard it through the grapevine- Marvin Gaye / Gladys Knight & the Pips
Ain't too proud to beg- The Temptations
Come 'round here- Smokey Robinson & the Miracles
For once in my life- Stevie Wonder
I was made to love her- Stevie Wonder
It's a shame- The Spinners
Ain't nothin' like the real thing-Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell
Is not No Mountain High Enough-Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell
You keep me hangin 'on "The Supremes
Can not Hurry Love-The Supremes
That How long have you evening train been gone, The Supremes
Get Ready-The Temptations
Nowhere To Run-Martha Reeves & the Vandellas

This old heart of mine-The Isley Brothers

and we could go much longer with more and more legendary topics
.- An extraordinary book to find out everything you need in his life and his music is "Standing in the Shadows of Motown. The life and music of Legendary bassist James Jamerson" Dr. Licks, in which apart from having all his life, in the second part of the book, we studied their music through performances of his songs (or summaries thereof) that perform some of the greatest bass players like Geddy Lee, John Entwistle, Marcus Miller, Will Lee, Bob Babbitt, Willie Weeks, Pino Palladino, Chuck Rainey, Jack Bruce, Garry Tallent, Kenny Aaronson, and Francis Rocco Prestia, among many others, and comes with 2 CDs in which these players, apart from interpret the transcripts to accompany the book, discuss their views on Jamerson, as well as other session musicians of Motown, the Funk Brothers, who also speak of his relationship with Jamerson, and their experiences the legendary label of Berry Gordy .- .- A wonderful book
Jamerson's style was rhythmic and melodic at the same time, many of his lines were absolute masterpieces of improvisation, keeping the rhythmic and harmonic function must have all good bass player but also beautifully melodic, but never invading the field of voice, or the main melody of the theme. No bass comparable to this man, playing many of their songs are not particularly complicated, but others is the task of months or even years to master to perfection, and when you do say, JOOOODER!. Jamerson used to say that sometimes looking at a flower and how moved he inspired to play a certain way. Tapping your lines, you understand what he meant. Any serious bass player, or aspiring to be, if not listen to James Jamerson never be achieved. Was, is and will continue to Siena, KING OF KINGS .-
And to prove it, one of his most beautiful lines, and that costs touch it, but when they get is a delight: "Dear Darling" of the Jackson 5 . Can you many do not like much the music of the Jackson 5, but even so, try to hear the bass line, melodic give account of what it is, it's almost like a second melody but still keeping the rhythm and the harmony of the theme, give account and never mixed with the melody and voice, and I would add that since the voice enters, the line does not repeat the same two bars, is a fucking masterpiece made bass line. Enjoy:

BULLS AND OTHER PROHIBITIONS

troubles and the last days of summer break (first round), return to the blog with a topic that has nothing to do with music, but I like to discuss.
The recent ban on bullfighting in Catalonia has made me think. To my bulls peel me, I do not like a fuck and even cheer me up I can go away, but then I stop to think and come to a conclusion: the ban is the solution? Are we going in the right direction by banning things?. And I say this because we are living in an era which I, frankly, I am concerned, smoking is prohibited everywhere, chasing the smoker almost like a plague, it is forbidden to drink in parks and other sites, which also prohibits children eat bakery products, now the bulls are banned. Where the hell will we get?. I understand that freedom is that everyone wants to choose the life you lead, and enjoy the things that you like, but that others do not like, always with the limitation of not harming or disturbing others, and I I think it is good solution that the rulers we start banning things and lead by ways they think you should go. What if for example some now appear "enlightened" and tell us you have to ban heavy concert in Spain because they are satanic and are bad influence for young people, and that can only be held or classical concerts or alejandro shakira sanz?. It is very dangerous to go on these roads. Freedom is a choice, to decide how you want to live that way and manner that it tastes or desires, and living in this era of prohibitions are cutting the freedom to live like everyone wants. Each one you choose if you want smoking or not, if you want alcoholizrse or not, if you walk in bakery, see or be a big bull with hair all over his body, but not tell us not to smoke, do not drink, you should go to the gym because you can be fat, you have to shave because they choose the current fashions, you can not see bulls because certain groups do not like , etc etc .- Let everyone do what the fuck you want and do not want, to do the opposite, so I understand it should be the things. "Now we care little for the bulls probably will not like the majority, but That's not the issue, because maybe tomorrow we will want to ban something that if we really fuck, and then see what the fuck do .-

DOBI GRAY DRIFT AWAY

Drift away is a song written by Mentor Williams, who was originally recorded in 1972 by John Henry Kurtz, and reached the level of classic immortal thanks to the version that made the Texas-born singer, Leonard Victor Ainsworth, better known as Dobie Gray, and in 1973 reached the top-5 lists success.
From that success, the song has been covered ad nauseum by all kinds of artists, from soul to pop through the Southern Rock, so many that it would be almost impossible to cite here, but as an example we could mention the versions of people like Ike & Tina Turner, Roy Orbison, Doobie Brothers, John Kay, or Uncle Kracker .- classic that always seemed to be a sensational song

JOHNNY HOY & THE BLUEFISH "Film noir angel"

singer and harmonica player, Johnny today, born in Connecticut but raised in New England and California, is a musician rather unknown but amazing quality, and that one does not understand how this kind of musicians passes sometimes so unnoticed by the music scene.
Along with his band, The Bluefish ", formed in 1991, covers a wide variety of styles of American roots music, from blues to Chicago, via the Zydeco, the jump / swing blues, sounds, New Orleans, Boogie , classic rock & roll 50 and 60 and even Rockabilly, forming a extraordinary music, sweeping, high-quality energy.
The band currently resides in the Boston area in Vineyard Haven, where he performs regularly, but not make that leap that could lead them to achieve greater levels of popularity since then, music and much .- deserve
I will met through this exceptional program radio3 blues and never should have disappeared, called "Train three," and in the mid 90's regularly rang her album "You gonna lose your head", which is a hard piece wonderful, and with which I became a fan of the band.
have other 3 discs, I know, "Trolling the hootchy", "Walk the plant" and live "in action."
This "Film noir angel "is his latest work and is a great album from first to last song. From the sweeping and devastating" Boogie "which is the original" Old Black Joe ", from" Sally Sue Brown ", the album's magnificent the disc, and so, through the 14 songs that make this disc closes with "Big Stack darlin '.
A real gem, probably unknown to most, but really, if you like the blues and American roots music you must not lose you for anything, because you'll be amazed and you're going to discover a magnificent piece band that hopefully will gradually getting the recognition it deserves.

What Does Atc Stand For Climbing

Lynyrd Skynyrd and lesser known temazos

Everyone knows the big hits of this superb band South. Such hits as "Free Bird," "Sweet Home Alabama", "Tuesday" Gone "," Simple Man, "" Whiskey Rock-a-roller "," Saturday night special, "" Gimme back my bullets "or" Gimme 3 steps "are mega-classic not only of the band, but the history of Rock.
But the great thing about this band is that, in addition to all this battery immortal songs, none of his records, especially those of the original lineup, had a bad song, and within these songs, you find gems, truly great songs that have always been bit in the shadow of their "big brothers", but which nevertheless fail to be memorable songs.

So today is a good day to remember any of those songs that are not included (with limited exceptions) in the compilation of the band, who are not diehard fans of this exceptional band unknown, but are songs that have wanted to if hundreds and hundreds of bands.

"Poison Whiskey", including the debut album of the band, tremendous temazo:

"The needle and the spoon." Tremendo temazo on his second album. A memorable song, no doubt:

"On the hunt" from their third album, "Nuthin 'fancy." One of those songs that got me down for a while, with that superb guitar riff. Piece of song, memorable

"Double trouble". Tremendous 2:44 minutes song, included in his 1976 album "Gimme Back My Bullets." Bestial:

And finally, two great songs by Steve Gaines memorable for the 1977 album "Street Survivors", which are two piece of spectacular songs. The first, "Is not no good life", sung by Gaines himself, and the second, "I never dreamed" that has always been a song that I greatly blown away, and I always thought it is very underrated:

This is just one small example of what Skynyrd is "hidden" in their discs, "hidden" behind the classics, and all we fans know well, but for those who may know only their classic, well would you do to listen to their whole albums, because they are full of real gems .-

Why Do I Have Soap Taste In My Mouth

"Queen of Memphis" BACHMAN TURNER OVERDRIVE

After another week something nasty in the gigs, with the ordenata giving a little bag, but now it seems that it works well, and in this heat that melts me and I neurons reluctantly leaves from "nothing", then return with a song that has always given me a good vibe, "Queen of Memphis" by the band in Atlanta, Georgia, Confederate Railroad. Banda formed in the 80's by singer / guitarist Danny Shirley, the lead guitarist Michael Lamb (replaced by Jimmy Dormire in 1995), Gates Nichols on steel guitar, keyboardist Chris McDaniel (replaced by Cody McCarver in 1998), bassist Wayne Secrest, and drummer Mark Dufresne.
This is a band that mixes modern country and alternative country as has been now called, with touches of Southern rock.
The band officially debuted in 1992 with his self-titled album, followed by "Notorious" in 1994, "When and where" in 1995, "Keep on rockin 'in 1998" Unleashed "in 2001," Cheap Thrills "in 2007, and" Live: back at the barroom "in 2010.
"Queen of Memphis" was included in the debut album of the band, which also included other hits such as "Time Off for Bad Behavior," or "She Took It Like a Man", and for me at least, the best song on the album and one of the best of his career without a doubt. With that guitar intro, the melody and the voice of Danny Shirley as Country and above all, with that catchy chorus but uplifting if you're down and says: "I saw stars dancing on the water, I Heard Elvis singing Blue Suede Shoes, That old muddy river was my witness, The night I fell in love with the Queen of Memphis ". TeMazo. To me at least give me a good feeling that you shit, listening to drinking a cold beer in the company of a pretty girl, I removed all the crap of the week. Grande, mi" Queen of Memphis "!

Nh Straight Cruising Places

Banda formed in Canada in 1972 by singer / guitarist Randy Bachman after the separation of the legendary Canadian band, "The Guess Who" in 1970, along with singer, guitarist and keyboardist Allan Kowbell, better known as Chad Allan, and also was a singer of "Guess Who", bassist CF "Fred" Turner, and drummer Robbie Bachman brother, Randy. Originally the band name was "Brave Belt," and with that name and grbaron training a couple of albums with little success. After that, Chad Allan left and was replaced by another Bachman brother, Tim, on guitar, and changing the name to "Bachman Turner Overdrive" .-
The band debuted with these changes in 1973 with its self-titled album, which was little impact, both in his native Canada and the United States.
However, his second album, "Bachman Turner Overdrive II" was a huge smash, supported mainly by the hit "Takin Care of Business" and other great songs like "Let It Ride."
Shortly before the release of the album "Not Fragile, Tim Bachman left the group to engage in production and was replaced by Blair Thornton.
"Not Fragile" was a success and the single "You Is not seen nothin 'yet" got a number 1 on the charts.
After this record would print "Four wheel drive" and "Head On" in 1975, and "Free Ways" in 1977, album after the publication Randy Bachman left the band to start a new career by forming the band "Ironhorse". The band replaced him Jim Clench and released a couple more albums, "Street action in 1978, and" Rock & Roll nights "in 1979, officially dissolved in 1980, although some subsequent meeting without much significance. In short, a good gang of 70, with several legendary items worth remembering .-

TIFT MERRITT "See you on the moon" (2010)

a couple of days ago or three that I have received via the "Amazon" the highly anticipated new work of my beloved Tift Merritt, and although I've only heard a couple of times and it is too early to appreciate it in perspective, gave me a wonderful feeling again.
not say well that is this woman and her music to get me as it has done, but the truth is that since the decubrí, just by chance, his music, his voice and his songs have caught me completely.
This album has an intimate, sometimes reflective, I guess that permeated in part, as the very Tift Merritt says in the acknowledgments of the disc, "the ghosts who came to visit and are part of the album" .-
The album, which was recorded in the "Overdub Lane Studios in Durham , North Carolina, is produced by Tucker Martine. Tift, who sings and plays guitar and piano, is accompanied by its usual Zeke Hutchins, drums, and Jay Brown on bass, musicians who have been with her whole life almost, and also by Scott McCall (guitar), Gregg Readling (piano and Hammond B3), Eyvind Kang (violin and viola), Steve Moore (keyboards and trombone), Greg Leisz (pedal steel guitars), Hans Teuber (sax, flute and clarinet), Thomas Marriott (trumpet); Gretchen Yanover (cello) and Jim James (harmonies) .-
As I say, the album has an intimate tone, with lyrics that speak of love, heartbreak, and the complications of relationships, or even death, as the final "After today "and he highlights superb original songs like" Mixtape ", which has some very horn arrangements as Bill Withers and 70's soul, and the letter revolves around someone who uses cassette tape of the entire life as the perfect vehicle to declare his love to another person through the songs he recorded in it, "Six more days of rain", estpenda song that seems to speak of how difficult it is to keep alive a relationship and to keep it running , "Feel of the world" beautiful song that has the support of Jim James of My Morning Jackett, "Never talk about it", another precious song about confinement in a relationship, "All The Reasons We Do not Have to fight", great song that tells to perfection an attempt to put aside the discussion and focus on all their reasons for not discussing, or "Papercut", a song that tells of a painful relationship .-
But of all the songs, which highlight greatly is the second song, "Engine to turn" one of those songs that grabs you from the first listen, with its wonderful melody, their delicious simplicity and great sound of this woman, and also Pride has a letter: "I do not know how to repair the world, not fix it myself as it seems we both need a little love, it seems we both need a little help" sing the first verse of the song, then sing "I'm trying to start the engine, I'm trying to smile through my tears." Wonderful song that almost worth the whole disc.
Finally, another great album by this wonderful woman with this fourth album has become one of the best artists of today, and take into account the future, it comes from a long time to step firm .-

Smokin 'Joe Kubek & BNOIS KING "Have blues, will travel" (2010)

New album by this great Texas blues-rock band, originally The Smokin 'Joe Kubek Band featuring Bnois King, and is now called only Smokin' Joe Kubek and Bnois King, and entitled "Have Blues Will Travel."
The disc is the second for the Alligator label, but the twelfth in his already long career, not counting a couple of unofficial records also bandied around .-
The album is produced by Joe Kubek and Alligator label president, Bruce Iglau, and was recorded at Nomad Recording Studios in Carrollton, Texas.
addition of Joe Kubek, who plays lead guitar, rhythm and slide, and Bnois King, who also sings and plays rhythm guitar and solo, accompanying them on this album John Morris on bass and Adrian Marchi on drums.
The drive offers more than basically the same as the earlier works, it is a tremendous dose of blues / rock jeans, with that very special counterpoint between the aggressive sound of Joe Kubek and jazzier of Bnois King, and sung with the voice so personal and special
own Bnois King .- The album features spectacular moments, as with the initial "Have blues, will travel" which is a boogie-style huge ZZ Top, "Out of body, out of mind", "One step at a time" or the theme that closes the album "What a sight to see."
There is also space for the typical Texas blues as "RU4 Real?", In which the pair is out, leaning on the powerful and great rhythm section that accompanies them, or super slow songs like "Shadows in the Dark" or " Wishful thinking ", which goes out to Joe Kubek slide guitar, getting almost to weep and mourn his guitar.
All this forms a great job, still in the line of what this great band has been doing for many years now, and although not offering anything different does not matter much, because what they do great and that's more than enough to make us enjoy those who adore his music, and I love the music of Smokin 'Joe Kubek & BNOIS KING, that you want to tell you. Texas Blues-Rock from many many carats .-

As I find on youtube videos of songs of this album, I leave a couple of live videos of tracks from previous work:
